Streaming Music is…Good for Music Labels? - bradshawroyague1995

Afterward much, much, much kicking and screech from record companies, streaming music via free (with paid options) services so much as Spotify and Pandora have finally managed to become a legal staple in the digital media world.

And–surprise, surprise–it looks equivalent the record companies are actually earning money from streaming music. Warner Music Group declared Thursday that it byword brawny growth in appendage tax revenue in its "Recorded Music" lin last quarter. Information technology also said that 25 percent of its digital receipts for Recorded Music came from streaming services.

Streaming services include subscription services much as Spotify and Rhapsody, Web radio services much as Pandora and Sirius, and YouTube, but does not include cloud up "lockers," such as Amazon's new cloud service.

AllThingsD did the math: More or less $54 million, OR about 8 percent of Warner's total revenue for the third quarter of its financial year, came from streaming services. In fact, Warner aforementioned that when you draw ou the upshot of international currentness fluctuations, its digital sales increased enough to offset its decrease in physical sales.

In other wrangle, hoi polloi are buying fewer physical CDs in record stores, but to make up for that fact they are purchasing more online music.

I do it this probably doesn't sound like news to most of you–it's just stage business as habitual. One industry (physical music) declines, another (appendage medicine) rises to read its place. Simply remember that the Recording Industry of United States (RIAA) has spent the better part of the last decade unable to get by with the changing face of the music industry.

In any event, I'm joyous that Charles Dudley Warner Music Group is making good money off of streaming services, and digital medicine in general. I hope this means that memorialise companies bequeath see what everyone else has seen for the by ten years–the Internet, and digital music, is non the enemy. (The RIAA, on the other hand…)
